Knowledge and perceptions of infertility among adults in Anekal Taluk Hospital, Karnataka

Background: Fertility is the ability to produce a child. Most couples value parenthood and look forward it. Infertility global phenomenon considered public problem; it does not only affect couples' lives but also affects their social environment healthcare servicesObjectives: To assess knowledge perceptions of fertility among adults aged 18-49 years visiting Anekal Taluk general hospital.Methodology: A hospital based cross-sectional study was done in General Hospital. consecutive sampling technique used. Participants who were aware word infertility included study. total 218 participants fulfilled criteria knowledge, nine-item awareness questionnaire administered by an interviewer. Assessment using structured, face-validated 15 item questionnaire. Data analysed Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 20.Results: There 300 The mean age 31.2±9.1. (72.7%) infertility. 171 (78.4%) had adequate fertility. positive about Gender, marital status, socio-economic status significantly associated with on fertility.Conclusion: Awareness increasing population however negative attitude towards stigma infertile females still present communities.
